June is finally here and the kids will be kicking back enjoying the hot weahter and cool water activities. Summertime reading is in full effect, and last but definitely not least, the Summer cinema season kicks in high gear! There are 5 family movies being released this summer (10 for the rest of the year) and NONE of them feature a main character of color. ( "Mowgli" premiers in October and is the ONLY remaining film featuring a main character of color "A Wrinkle in Time" was the other one for 2018. See the complete list here.) 
So slim pickings for going to the movies, but never fret!! Here is a short list of creating your very own "RainbowMe Summer Cinema!" Get the big screen television or projector, place it in the garage, or on the side or back of the house or apartment building, add some cardboard boxes and create your own "drivein" movie theater.
Now that that is out of the way, here are 5 movies to entertain the littles this summer:
